Compare and Contrast Essay Style The style I chose for my fourth essay is compare and contrast. I chose this kind of essay after I decided what I was going to write about. I didn’t really know what I was going to write about until it happened on Friday night. I knew I wanted to write something about dancing but wasn’t sure how I was going to do it. I realized that I could contrast these two extreme opposite emotions when the only thing that made me feel better on Saturday was dancing. The compare and contrast essay means to compare two subjects while examining their similarities and differences. There are two ways in which this can be done. First by introducing both subjects in the beginning and then talking aobut them separately. This is the way I chose to structure my paper. In the first paragraph I stated how different my emotions are when I am hurt by someone I love and when I’m dancing. The other option is to compare both subjects at once, explaining them point by point. In my essay I mostly contrasted my emotions by explaining how different they are from eachother.
